Phase II Construction in Eliza Howell Park

It’s time for our next round of Park Improvements in Eliza Howell Park. Phase II of park improvements will implement large steps toward restoration of the park’s natural habitat as well as improved access to these natural features for park-goers. These improvements will be disrupting the main walking loop path, but the park and other trails will remain open.
PHASE II INCLUDES:
Removal of invasive species
Restoring native habitat in prairie and wetland areas
Resurfacing and widening a portion of the crushed-limestone walking loop
Laying a new crushed-limestone cut-through path
Expanding of vernal pond habitat
Creating a boardwalk over the vernal pond
Creating a rain garden
