Sidewalk Detroit and Kresge Arts in Detroit Present:

What is the story of Detroit Artist(s) today?
What is the future we want for our community?

To begin the NOW:FUTURE summer program series and honorary celebration of the 2020 Kresge Artist Fellows, this panel discussion takes place over two sessions. The first session focuses on a younger generation of artists. Moderated by Diana J Nucera the panelist include, Sacramento Knoxx, Sterling Toles, Sherina Rodriguez, and Chace Morris.

This panel will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 1pm-2pm via Streamyard and live-streamed on Facebook. We encourage anyone that is interested in joining to comment in real-time! Anyone is welcome to participate by commenting in the feedback section on Facebook

We hope you can join us for part two of this panel discussion scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 1pm-2pm. This panel highlights some of Detroit’s most venerable, long-term artist residents. Moderating this panel is Desiree Cooper with panelist, Marsha Music Reverand Robert Jones, and Shaun Nethercott.

NOW:FUTURE is a summer series of public art events and online engagements to highlight the contributions of Kresge Artist Fellows and Gilda Award recipients to Detroit’s dance, theatre, film, and music communities. The theme, NOW:FUTURE asks artists to reflect on their experiences and the world around them as it relates to our current cultural, political, and personal landscape.
